The Library Re-opens.

I missed the preview. Tho' I did visit the re-opened Yishun Public Library just now. It was a little disappointing.

The new location is much more accessible and there are probably more shelves of books. But the media section is still missing. I usually travel to either Bishan or AMK, and occasionally to Woodlands for the DVDs. So I was hoping that they would include a media section in the new Yishun Library. It will be so much more convenient to drop by after work and borrow some documentaries - a very good reason to renew my premium membership.

Considering I thought I walked into a market just now, the new library is less cozy and less conclusive for readers. It was probably the nosiest library I had ever been to. Perhaps due to its novelty, the library was crowded - not a good thing when most people were unaware of the basic library etiquette of keeping silence. Little children ran around and talked loudly. I guess their parents may had failed to realise they weren't in a playground. I was probably one of the few people to be disturbed by the chaos. One couple was oblivious to the surrounding and were all-over-each-other.

For obvious reasons, I would like to suggest that the administration to relocate the children section to one enclosed corner (similar to Bishan Library). At the moment, the library adopts an open concept for the children section and it does look abit like playground. It is kinda inviting for kids to run around. :p

I suppose "a little disappointing" is better than "very disappointing"! LOL.
Seriously though, the reason why YIPL doesn't have a AV collection is because a shopping mall library typically isn't large enough to have an AV collections. But that being said, your suggestion it's worth considering. I'll forward it to the library manager, including your feedback about the location of the Children's section. Education on library etiquette is always a challenge. Cheers.

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

Shopping for Perfume.

If you want to buy original but cheaper perfume in Singapore, you'd probably go to Lucky Plaza . You can bargain at the perfume shops in Lucky Plaza which is the exact reason why anyone would wanna shop at Lucky Plaza. I went there with a friend to shop for some perfume this afternoon. It was a shopping experience I never had before in Singapore. As a matter of fact, never before in my life or anywhere in the world. I usually visit the two shops near McDonald's . Today we decided check out another shop since we had walked from the "Lucky Plaza - Ngee Ann City underpass". We had in mind one of the brand we wanted. So after asking the price, we looked for the 2nd bottle of brand, but at a lower budget. We tested three, can't decide and asked for recommendation from the boss, an Indian lady (not being racist, its just the fact it happened to be an Indian shop). She showed me a black face (no pun intended! heh ) and said my budget was too low. She probably wasn'...

If you have it, just flaunt it.

Its such a lousy day, I have decided to blog another entry. Yesh, I am thinking about things other than my last two papers on Thurs and Friday. Something probably talked alot before by many people... What is it with men and women with 可爱-oooii *杨丞琳's voice* face, long tresses, slim legs, curvey body, in revealing tight clothes (only for those with the former characteristics), in pink. Why are men so attracted to those features? The guy is lying if he says he will not turn his head when he sees women with those features. I think it has nothing to do with men being lustful or anything disgusting. It probably has something to do with the genes, the hormones. I don't believe it has to do with things like its men's nature instinct to look for partners who can reproduce blahblahblah. That's so boring! Its something mysterious, something that let men derives pleasure by just looking openly, without doing anything bad or harmful or immoral. Do women ogle at men all the time too...
