Did you hear the siren at 12 noon today? It was another day, before the siren reminded me the terrible event that happened 65 years ago. I will always remember this bit of Singapore history. On the first day of Chinese New Year in 15 February 1942, Singapore fell to the Japanese Occupation. In war, there is no right or wrong, just innocent people who suffers the wrath of destruction.

Having written about " crush " and " love ", I think Valentine's is also about friendship. While I was squeezing my way out of the train this morning, a man stood smack right in the middle of the door on the platform. He gestured me to siam (get out of the way), as he tried to force his way into the crowded train. Another woman on the bus refused to take the inner seat, kiao ka (put leg on knee) and deprived an old woman of the seat. They nearly ruin my beautiful Friday morning! Luckily, the sight of the-most-beautiful-girl-on-145 , whom I see quite often, saved the day!

Imagine this: you are given a billion dollars. However, you are told that you can only use this money to buy a jet plane. And you must make your purchase within twenty-four hours, ie. the plane must be delivered by tomorrow. You are constantly reminded to quickly spend that money. When you finally find a deal with Boeing which is well below your budget, you are told that the price is too steep and AirBus offers better price. However, AirBus can only deliver next month.
