Tonight, I went to 琦琦 's concert with 琪琪 ! Cheer Chen was really impressive! She sang for three solid hours!!! That must be one of the longest concert I ever been. There were many encores and she sang for every single one of them till the fans felt kinda bad for making her sing so many songs! It was the first time I hear her sing live! Her voice was really powerful and her skills were remarkable! It was even better than listening to her CD. She started out in a beautiful white dress with tattoo on her left arm. One the the fans held a light sign of a little sun with the word " 琦 "! In her second outfit, she dressed like a painter! Mid way through, she suddenly appeared on the crane! Then she made her way through the audience!!! Everyone stood up and the Indoor Stadium rocked with her! Yea, finally everyone were off their seats, befitting for enjoying Cheer's rock-style music! From the ending of Slumdog Millionaire . A great contrast from the otherwise very DannyBoyle -style movie (think Trainspotting ). But it was indeed a delightful surprise. :) Yay! I can hear the cheers from of the fans and some of them are getting outta their seats already... ;-) It reminded me of a previous Hollywood-attempt on the Bollywood-style dancing in the movie, The Guru ... More of the dancing on the Ellen DeGeneres show . Be warned, Patel and Freida looked stumbled by the dance steps - not so cool anymore. But the crew was hilarious tho'. LOL.

There are probably more Olivia Ong fans these days as she sang the theme song 《如燕》 of the Ch 8 hit show, 《小娘惹》 . So fans will be happy to know that there is a Olivia Ong Quintet page on MySpace. I did not know of it till I checked my blog stats this morning. There were eleven instances of entry pages from their site. It was then that I realised that there is a link to my review of their Mosaic 2008 performance at the Esplanade. It is kinda embarrassing as my review was quite amateurish. :p Nevertheless, check out the O2Q MySpace page. There, you can find some photographs, and video clips of their rehearsal and live performances. Tho' they are actually available on youTube . Hopefully, they'll post some news or schedule of their live gigs on their MySpace site next time.

Together with Pingx2 , Quiet Neighbour and my wife, we visited the Anime Festival Asia '08 last Saturday. It was much smaller scale than I had expected. I imagined production houses launching new animations, cosplayers everywhere, mascots walking around the hall distributing pamphlets. But there were none of those. Ha. 'Cept for a few cosplayers. :p The advertisements certainly made it sounded more exciting than the atmosphere at the exhibition hall. There wasn't much buzz or excitement. Where are all the otakus in Singapore??? Minus the wow-factor, there were still plenty of activities for the fans. There were the good old models kits on sale and on display. Fans were allowed to take photographs freely. I suppose one of the highlights was this giant Gundam model... I also spotted this one and only GITS model. Its Major Motoko Kusanagi in the Tachikoma... Feeling so high that the sky flipped! The last concert I went to was to the Franz Ferdinand concert two years ago. After hearing about their previous concert, I was looking forward to a very high Mayday 五月天 show! We were seated at PB Row 24. I was there with Ah Fa and my girlfriend. Just before the start of the concert. Then the lights went out and the crowd went wild! Four troopers came rappelling from the indoor stadium roof! Then the band made their appearance! Hanging down from high above! 石头 appeared solo with his guitar, like the God of Guitar. While the rest of the band made their entrance on the moving platform stage. And the rock concert began! From the very first minute to the last, everyone were waving their light sticks and jumping with the rhythm. 怪兽 and 石头 jamming away! Dueling each other at the top of the moving platform!
