The Force Is With Me.

I am not kidding you. This is my prized souvenir from the States.

Desert Flowers.

As I mentioned before, there wasn't really much time to visit anywhere during the trip and the best thing to do at night in Palm Springs was to stay in the hotel and sleep. I think the nicest pictures I can share would have to be the beautiful flowers at Palm Springs Convention Center, which I saw every morning. You can find some in my previous post . Here are more of the beautiful flowers and trees!

SoCal Thru' My Eyes.

The conference had been fast and furious so far. We tried to absorb the sessions and come out with new ideas from what we saw. Having new ideas also meant having new problems as we thought about adapting these ideas for our solutions. In between sessions, we managed to catch up with the developers to clarify our doubts. Tomorrow will be the last day of the conference. Let me share with you some images from the past few days in LA and Palm Springs... One of the first thing that caught my attention on the streets of LA, a giant donut. Beautiful flowers basking in the California sun... Of course, beside flowers, there are lotsa Palm Trees around here... According to my mission leader, the richer the families are, the more palm trees are planted outside their houses. We visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame during the first night in LA after dinner... King Kong with a lady in his hand... Prints of Harrison Ford... Spidy posing with some passersby... Spidy off work... time for a beer? King of

The Day The Earth Shook.

Apparently, I had experienced the first earthquake in my life. Unfortunately or fortunately... I was sound asleep when it happened. Didn't feel a thing. Hmmm.... Btw, I think they don't use face wash over here... Can't find it in any of the stores I visited (Target, Rite Aid, Wargreen or 7-11).

Warming to California Sun.

The jet lag finally hit me this afternoon. The minute they showed the codes on the projection, I started to knock off. But all in all, I am starting to warm up (after an hour of lunch on the grass under the California sun - American style) for the conference. Hopefully I will absorb more tomorrow when the technical sessions start. -shudder- More codes!!!

Touchdown in the City of Angels.

Five in-flight movies later, I finally touched down in LA. Quantum of Solace - 2 outta 5. What is that show about again? ... that everyone Bond touches dies? Australia - 4 outta 5. I like the theme of the show. The Walkabout, the Dreaming, reminded me of the secondary one Literature text. Suspect X - 3.5 outta 5. I like the part when geniuses put their wits and logic against each other. The physicist vs the mathematician. And emotions can be used logically. A Good Year - 4 outta 5. Two words, French Romance. I just love this sorta thing. hee hee. Departures - 4 outta 5. Sorry dear, I watched it already. But I think they won't be showing it by the time I get back. Not sure if you should watch because you'll be crying like a fountain for sure. This movie unveiled the unique aspect of death in Japan. SoCal is awakening from deep cold on the first day of Spring. The weather is just nice, minus the wind. First stop was Target, to get the necessities. I also got myself a mini in
