The Job Test.

Heard some big shot said on TV that these days Jobs are looking for People... Jobs remind us of interviews, and these scary tests or assessments. Saw this interesting Employee Job Test comic on Freshome.com . It's funny. But it reminds me the pressing problem of getting people to join me for the trip. Yes, you guessed it. The country where this company originated... Beginning to think that I'm bound to fail when it comes to organising some overseas trip. Remember Taman Negara ? Gees .

Getting On Their Nerves.

Asking people to join me for the trip has turned out to be tougher than expected. Is it $ or time? Or is it really just me? Hmmmm... Sorry if you can't feel my sincerity, I seemed too pushy, or I had actually annoyed/irritated anyone along the way. It really hurts to hear it so. Ouchie. I hate this feeling. Grrr... If not for the prompting of "Then", I wouldn't have continued the attempt to convince. My tiny lil' brain just find it difficult to process reasons like "I don't feel like it". Not so rational for a Male-Engineer-Brain. Not to mention single word responses. Is this one of nature's mystery that I have to decipher? Perhaps you think I am petty, perhaps you will feel the same if you were in my shoes. Convincing people is really tough, definitely not the thing I do well lah ... =( It's really strange how there can be up and down within a day, a swing of mood from end to end within hours. Suspecting my EQ level is actually quite low to

I Like... I Love...

Romantic comedy . My favourite genre, this reason is good 'nuff for me to catch this movie. If you don't like this genre, I think you'll probably still catch it cuz there's Audrey Tautou in the show! That babe in À la folie... pas du tout (He Loves Me... He Loves Me Not) and Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (Amelie of Montmartre). She is absolutely gorgeous-sexy-oh-pls-let-me-meet-her-in-person , drop dead beautiful. Yah I'm satisfied with just meeting her in person. Besides, don't think my girlfriend would wish to know what else I would... * Warning spoilers ahead * I will also trade away my watch full of diamonds for the Chanel dress for her. I wish she had taken less puff in the movie. Smoking ain't cool... Oh yes, 'nuff of dreaming, back to the show. You can read about the plot and watch the trailer here . My thoughts of the show? Beside the tinny-winny unique plot, its a typical French film that showcase their lifestyle and humour. Probabl

See No Touch.

Finally, we get to see each other over the video call. Miss you dear!

Warming my Pockets.

Succumbed to the heat wave last week and got a technician to fix the air-con at home. After opening up the cover, he did some dusting, and that cost $90. Well, I thought he charged $90 for just dusting it, thats really expensive. But Dad said, the technician was able to charge $90 because he knew dusting is enough to fix the problem, we wouldn't know what to do ourselves. Two days later, the air-con caused the power at home to trip again. Luckily, it was still under warranty. So we got the technician back to take a look. This time, he said we need to change the ECB (Electric Circuit Breaker). He said the rating is too low, and prone to tripping. But but but... obviously the problem gotta do with the air-con... Maybe he is right, with the air-con on, it can easily overload the box. I don't really know whats the rational. Are there mechanical parts that wear out over time? If its electronics, don't it just either work or fail? Whats the MTBF for such components? Hmmm... Dad i

Fantasy Football 06/07.

It was a nail biting finish till the end. Much like the relegation fight between West Ham , Wigan and Sheffield United . First of all, before I go on to the details of the tight fight between my team and KC-XTT 's legendary xtt risky business , a round up on my team's performance this season: Really nothing to be proud of. Finished at a dismay 96th percentile, 2780 points and overall rank of 7492, 3rd in UHU League , 4th in Jokers League . This is the 3rd season. A little improvement from the 94th percentile of last season, but far cry from the 98th percentile of the first season. You may be wondering, such lousy result, whats there to blog about? Well, the exciting thing this season is that my girlfriend joined in the game as well, and the close fight with KC-XTT 's team. My team vs xtt risky business . First the stats... Position: me 3rd vs xtt 4th Points: me 2780 vs xtt 2720.5 # of Team of the Week: me 2 vs xtt 4 Less than 60 points separate our team! xtt climbed from t

Tagged!

" Been tagged. So i'm tagging you " I've been tagged by Sunshine . Rules of the game: Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks! 1. The first song I have to listen every morning on my Zen Neeon is Bic Runga's Sway . It gives me a soothing and calm feel, drives away the blues. 2. I like my fries plain. No chili, no ketchup. Occasionally abit of mayo is fine... But I still prefer it plain. 3. People often think that I don't take spicy food. That is because I don't like to add chili for my dishes, eg. I don't add chili to my chicken rice, I don't eat noodles with chili. But I do take spicy food. In fact some of my favorite dishes are spicy, eg. Curry Chicken , T

Away In Gothenberg.

Wanted to give her a surprise at the airport: Wrap it around her neck just before she goes through the custom . But she dug through my bag way before I can put my plan to work. heh heh. She said she don't want to cry in front of everyone. She cried anyway, in her room. It wasn't over the scarf, but over what I said. " Wah . So HOT! Don't want to wear it larh ...." Of cuz not for you to wear in Singapore lah ... "But I like it! Me cute or not?" Starting to miss you dear...

Hey You Reading This?

Guess who is doing some "market research"? Hope they have read this entry too and take some corrective measures.

The Phantom of the Opera.

Fantastic! It was amazing. The orchestra, the props, the singing, plus I am kinda sua-ku lah . First time to a musical, a very good one indeed. I was only a few metres away from the stage! Christine looked into my eyes are few times. I wanted to wave at her. I didn't tho', my girlfriend said that I would have distracted her and spoilt the show.

Simply Lousy.

This is f**king ridiculous . SBS Transit bus service is bl**dy lousy ! I had to wait for three buses before I was shoved up the bus by the crowd behind me. There were many others who gave up at the bus stop. Each of the three buses was filled to the last person at the door step. And the amazing thing was that each bus was smaller than the usual one. Perhaps shorter by around one to two metres. I read from a sign on the bus that each bus was licensed to carry only 51 passengers . -yeah right- The number of people waiting for 92 at any moment during the peak hours was probably more than that. I noticed the arrival frequency of 95 was much higher than 92. The 95 buses were normal-sized and mostly half filled. It is the school holidays in NUS now, that explained why less people were taking 95. But its no holiday for folks working in Science Park lorh . Shouldn't they plan more buses for the 92 route during peak hours? If there were not enough resources, move one or two buses from the

The 27th Birthday Post Part 3.

My 27th birthday will probably be one of the most memorable for there is a Part 3 to it! My dear friend Yogi gave me a treat at Sun With Moon Japanese Dining and Cafe @ Wheelock's Place level 3. Of cuz this post is about the food.... Ain't very good at describing the taste, shall we just let the pictures do most of the talking? mmmm... Both of us ordered " Japanese claypot rice " heh ... We were supposed to wait for a minute before lifting the cover. I am not too sure why don't they serve out food that we can eat immediately... Why that one more minute? Perhaps it was supposed to add some unique element to the dining experience? Once all the sand flows through the hourglass, time to dig into the food! Yogi had Hotate Mentaiko Kamameshi , this is simmered scallop and fish roe. It wasn't fantastic tho', but still, not bad lah . One of the chef's recommendation . If you like to eat the whole scallop, you'll like this lorh . It was served abit cold,

The 27th Birthday Post Part 2.

A last minute request to conduct some testing at the site, and I ended up having to leave only at 8pm. What a way to celebrate the actual day of my birthday - with WORK . Yup, I did not apply for leave today as I still had lotsa work to be done and my dear was having her last paper this evening. Luckily, a buncha merry people went drinking with me at Alleybar. Another round of celebrations? Like Cinderella, I had to go home before 12mn for more things awaited me at home. My family celebrated my birthday for me! Cake and more presents! Mum and Dad gave me a big ang bao and a Waterman pen. Now I can sign those big fat cheques with it. Or autograph my books and albums? =p And my sister gave me a Braun Buffel card holder. Perhaps for my country clubs membership cards and various banks' credit cards? lol. And my dear girlfriend posted an entry on her blog for me! Thank you everyone for such a wonderful birthday celebration for me this year! Arigato!

Tickle Art.

If the environmentalists saw this, they ain't gonna be too happy. So many plastic bags hanging on the wall, especially with the Less Plastic Bag Campaign going on right now. heh heh . I came across this installation art last week along the underpass of Citylink Mall and the Esplanade . Went back yesterday to get some photos of it. I think it is really creative. Made of only plastic bags and compact discs, this work is entitled " The Many Emotions of Mr. Singapore ". It is by Robert Ern-Yuan Guth and Chang Jin Chao who did the faces. The description of this work says, " This is a simple material-based work that relies the resemblance of shopping bags to the human form. The purpose of the work is to encourage the viewer to look at the everyday with fresh eyes and enjoy the world around them. Hopefully it makes them smile. The most noticeable difference is that the faces have been hand drawn not printed on the CDs, which is intention for the final work. " A clo

The 27th Birthday Post.

It was the biggest turnout to celebrate my birthday since my one-year-old birthday!!! Heh heh . I am gonna do this post by dividing it into three parts, Food , Presents!!! , and The People . Food We had dinner at Casa Bom Vento , Seah's Street. I chose that place after seeing Michelle and Gurmit eating there on TV. Some pictures of the food! Woah ... all the food and more... If you noticed, I did not state the name of the dishes... cuz I can't remember!!! Wahahaha . You can read more about the dishes and the review in this food blog . I think I probably had high expectations for the food... so it fell abit below that. A lil' disappointed. But that's alright, cuz more fantastic things follow. Presents!!! I love this part, opening of presents! The first I actually got from my girlfriend in the afternoon. Its a Citizen Eco-Drive watch! A photo of me posing with the watch. I know I am no Ekin or Andy Lau ... hah hah . You might be wondering, whats Eco-Drive ... Do you kno
