Tagging 333.

After more than four hours of tagging of the 333 posts , you can now read the posts based on categories instead of chronological order! Find the categories on the side bar. I think this will be useful for readers new to my blog. =) Skip the boring parts, go straight to the topic that interest you? Of cuz you can also start with my list of Favourite Posts , or simply start from the first! Hmmm... I really doubt anyone will have the time and patience. Okay lah , time to have a good rest. This is hard work...

Geek Attack.

I must admit it is also nice to stay home on weekends once in a while to catch up with my readings of tech. blogs, sleep, and watch animes, doing geeky stuffs. Especially when there's nobody to hang out with. =p Below is my list of tech. blogs bookmarks (mostly on GUI and best practices). I try to read them whenever I have time (eg. NOW ). =p Started my own tech. blog with my girlfriend last year, which is sorta abandoned now as I lost the initial zeal. It is just too tedious to update and I don't really know much to share. Hah hah . Tho' nobody is reading or writing, we have a "mirror" site in Wordpress here . It's much easier to just write nonsense and complain lah ... Perhaps I will revive it one day. Or if there's anyone out there who would like to be a co-author, do let me know! I am putting this entry as a perm. link (see the side bar? along with the "Bday Wishlists", "Favourite Entries", and whatever-lists) so that you can ch

Comfortably Numb Again.

Unlike most people, I love Mondays. Cuz it brings energy and new hopes. And I dislike Fridays. Although weekend is near, it is also the time when effects of stress peak. The journey home alone is the toughest. Things get better once I read home as I indulge in slacking and what not. Like it or not we have to put up with stress. What is stress? I think it is something which your body experience when put thru' some kinda situations. It drains your body, makes your mind tired. Ironically, I think this weakness stems from strengths of humanity. Example, sense of responsibility, commitment, consideration for others, desire for perfection, to improve or achieve, etc. Unlike unhappiness, it isn't as simple as So-What , and let go. Cuz you may not be worrying or actively thinking of it, but it continues to take a toll on your body. Tho' I think to relieve oneself from stress also requires one to plunge into another realm. Be engrossed in other matters. It is natural for one to wis

More So-What(s).

It was fun listing some of my So-What(s) that I am going to list more. Of cuz, I came up (ie. made up) with most of them, not all are my grudges. Which is real, that's for you to decide. =p Anyway, before I go on, I think I want to add on that you should not try to complete the So-What(s) or add another sentence after it. Just leave it as it is. Different people may have different interpretations. Eg. "So what... is the big deal ? (It's not a big deal.)" or "So what... can you do ? (You are helpless, there is nothing you can do. Forget it.)" I'd prefer the former interpretation. Let me quit pretending to be philosophical and go back to being crappy. "Those buggers on the bus refuse to move to the rear." So what. "He cut my queue." So what. "That old man gave me a dirty look." So what. "He was digging his nose and flicking his booger at my direction!" So what. "Those idiots stood on the platform as if they wer

Wimbledon 2007.

Remember I previously commented in the Roland Garros entry that IBM did a fabulous job with the website, the live commentary, and hopefully there will be videocast? Guess what, they did it! Yes, there is videocast of most matches live on the Wimbledon website ! Does that mean I'll get to see Sharapova -swooon- in action? Or a replay of the Nadal vs Federer final? Guess what? You have to pay to watch! Luckily, tho' I can't choose to watch any match I want to, at least I still got to watch the Tim Henman vs Feliciano Lopez match at the Centre Court on SopCast , live on ESPN2 . =) If you want to watch too, but unable to afford the unreasonable SCV Sports Channel subscription, watch it on SopCast !

Misery Loves Company. So What.

This will be another one of the unhappy boo-hoo-entry . Maybe I am unhappy maybe I am not, cuz in end the result is the same - writing about it makes me feel better. Nothing terrible had happened. Not at all. Perhaps a dozen little unhappy things happened. But of cuz good things did happen in between. They sorta have a neutralizing effect. Then came one unhappy incident. It was probably like any other. Maybe it mattered to me abit more. But it was enough to draw all other bad incidents together, and made my mood extremely foul. The other bad things were amplified. They became the main culprits. They stirred up my emotions. Misery loves company. I think one way to feel better is really to step back and look into other things. Example, read a book, be nosy and listen to others' conversations, plunge into someone's world, away from yours. In the train, I overheard a lady complaining about unfair pay increment at her workplace. She was very upset that her colleague who joined later

The Singapore Rock.

Remember the entry on my visit to NHM not so long ago? Well, my shy-neighbour-in-the-office visited it last weekend. He took a couple of pictures which I did not capture the last time, so I thought it'd be nice to show you guys. The first is the Singapore Stone. I don't remember much about the stone, can you see the inscriptions? Anyway if you want to find out more about it, you may wanna consider asking my shy-neighbour-in-the-office . He seems to know the story very well! I thought it was the first recorded known act of vandalism in the history of Singapore. However, according to him, this part of a bigger rock at the mouth of Singapore River long long ago. I guess it must had left a deep impression in him, after taking that picture, he caught the attention of the curator. That explains why the only other picture he took was this six-colour chair. According to him, the theme is "Where Green Is", as there are only 6 colours. The lil' sign on it says "Plea

Drivers Drove Me Nuts.

Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. Well almost... First, the drivers for the chipset and other onboard drivers could not be installed without any obvious reason of errors. God knows why the drivers of the Intel motherboard devices are tied to the OS.. Need at least XP SP2 to work. Then next I was unable to connect to the Internet. Despite applying all my networking knowledge, I was unable to fix it. And in the end, it took a hard reset to the cable modem to work. Apparently, putting it to standby mode doesn't work. You see, I use a modem router, so I don't know that you need to restart the modem if you associate it with a new MAC address (I assume you need to do that). Then it came to installing the web-cam. The blue screen of death greeted me. The Logitech driver clashes with some onboard devices. Boo-hoo . So I happily downloaded one driver after another. Even the latest one crashed the machine. And then TADA! We (me and my girlfriend's mum) finally got t

The Red Dream.

I had a dream last night. I was back in school. It was Chinese lesson. We were going thru' a passage in the primary-school-style Chinese textbook. Sure enough, the teacher asked me to read the passage. I had some trouble reading some of the words. Finally I managed to read the whole passage in bits and pieces. Then the teacher commented that I probably had not been reading Chinese books for a long time. She was so right. Languages, like all skills, you'll lose it if you don't practice it. I am having thoughts of picking up another language. However, I am slowly losing proficiency in one which I used to be so proud that I was good at it. I think the least I can do now is to pick up some reading of Chinese short stories ( 散文 ) again. It will keep me interested for a while. =op Btw, they are showing Almost Famous on TV right now. I remember sneaking into the cinema for this R(A) show back then, when I was a couple of months before 21, with a female friend who was more than a
