Dawn of the new era.

When do I start writing about the dawn of the new era, about the start of new phase? I read many. They talked about their future, about where to go from here, about the last days of exams, the last day of their academic life. I don't think I am quite ready yet. Not till the day when its all confirm (exams results out la), will the burden lay to rest. I guess that's one of my greatest weakness. I'm unable to commit myself fully for anything until I know I have the capability to do it. Perhaps its the fear of failure *touchwood!!!*. But then again, I have been telling myself, "Why not do your best, why short change youself?". And it had been quite effective.

I think luck has some role to play in it as well. Since luck had been on my side this week, most things had went well. In fact, after the successful presentation, the interview was good, I was offered a job, and I signed for the job. The luck will probably stop somewhere. And it sorta did when I went for my medical checkup. Was told that I have hypertension, probably need medication. I suspect its the Mac I had for lunch, the stress derived from school, but its probably just self-denial. I do have to start on a strict diet and exercise regime (something I talked about donkey years ago). Its not the end of the world yet for me, things are looking good. With a lil' fine tuning here and there, I should be a happy guy right? At least some ppl will say, "Hey you found a job liao, what else you want?". Yeah, I should keep my chin up, I ain't exact a "patient" or anything.

With all that happening, the thoughts and plans of the new era will have to wait. Perhaps I still can review somethings from the present phase. I have decided to publish the secret (few have read it) diary of leslielim (yesh, thats my name). It is entitled "Before I Grow Old" or BIGO for short (yes, its a rip off, but I like it and its fitting). It contains the diary entries which I sent to some close friends during in the 2nd semester of my freshman year (which I mentioned in the first entry of this blog). You can say its a peek into my untamed youth, to inflate my silly ego, mostly its just for laugh. Here's the address: beek-oh.blogspot.com

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

If you have it, just flaunt it.

Its such a lousy day, I have decided to blog another entry. Yesh, I am thinking about things other than my last two papers on Thurs and Friday. Something probably talked alot before by many people... What is it with men and women with 可爱-oooii *杨丞琳's voice* face, long tresses, slim legs, curvey body, in revealing tight clothes (only for those with the former characteristics), in pink. Why are men so attracted to those features? The guy is lying if he says he will not turn his head when he sees women with those features. I think it has nothing to do with men being lustful or anything disgusting. It probably has something to do with the genes, the hormones. I don't believe it has to do with things like its men's nature instinct to look for partners who can reproduce blahblahblah. That's so boring! Its something mysterious, something that let men derives pleasure by just looking openly, without doing anything bad or harmful or immoral. Do women ogle at men all the time too...

Saturday Afternoon Routine.

I just got back from the Saturday tuition sessions. It has been almost 5 months since I started.I have two classes of primary school children, P4 and P3, taking Maths and Science, and English, respectively. It has become a Saturday routine. A energy-draining activity. It is somehow different from giving volunteering tuition. When you are paid, the responsibility seems greater. And if you ain't doing a good job, someone else is readily available to take up yours. The fact that I really need that money, I have to put in more effort. Some students have left, and some have joined. I'm not sure whether they left cuz they think I ain't good 'nuff for them. But there are some who seem really happy and appreciative to have me around. On my first lesson, I set the ground rules for my classes. I told them my expectations on their behavior. On boy, how naive I was. They are only nine or ten, they don't understand the significance of those rules. After a couple of lessons with ...
