A belated entry for the final day. Its in bits and pieces...
After thirty-five papers, I was finally sitting for the last paper (hopefully) in my undergrad life. It wasn't a big deal or anything, but was definitely significant. I sat there on my desk with the questions and answer booklet in front of me. Then I pulled out my pink IC outta my wallet. I was surprised it wasn't my matric card, it wasn't in my wallet at all. I lost my matric card before the last paper. Luckily I was able to go on with my paper without any problem. But I told myself that I must get it back, I want to continue enjoy the discounts with the card (frankly, I only use the student price of one dollar at the art museum =p).
I had 拉面 and 上海小笼包 for lunch. 小笼包 is not 包 hor. So please don't say anything inauspicious, choy-choy-choy. Anyway, bro thanks for the treat... You are the man! A picture of it for my readers. I like the juicy filling. But its definitely not as fantastic as the first time I had it - diminishing marginal utility...
We also washed our toilet for the last time today.
I wenta get back my matric card from the Hall D lost-and-found box after the paper ended at 5pm. I had left it on the desk after the econs paper the day before. To my surprised, there was a stack of cards there. You have no idea how many people were as silly as me to leave their matric cards in the exam halls. I also found one belonging to a friend, and a pink identity card.
My mahjong kakis came together to play mahjong for the last time in hall (picture of them another time). We made helluva noise, but nobody really cared. You can say we were inconsiderate or whatever, it was Friday, and it was the end for us. Those living upstairs and downstairs, and my toiletmates had all finished their papers. Fair enough? As usual, we were distracted by the tv and played like snails. Almost finish playing 北风 this time - slow huh? I ended the 2nd big loser again. I would want to blame it to the lousy feng shui seat. Even Andy Lau would have agreed with me.
We headed to Boon Lay market Power Nasi Lemak for supper. Probably one of the last time I am having it too. Its just too far away from my house. hah. For those who have not tried yet, you gotta try. Sedap. Everything is cooked on the spot. It opens only after 11pm. There's perpetually a queue there every night. And they got all sorta awards from Ch U, Makansutra, etc. Its for real lorh, not like some char kuay tiao stall at chompchomp, nothing fantastic also long long queue. There's a picture of it to show you, looks normal, but tastes fantastic.
The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)
