The LEGO set was probably the best toy I had as a kid. Although throughout my childhood I only had a modest set Lego (one with a ~20x20cm green base and enough blocks to build a small house on it), it didn't stop me from doing more. In fact, I remember piecing up three spaceships for the characters in Journey to the West (after I was inspired by their somersaults on the clouds in the show). :-p
Looking back, I guess the LEGO set helped me to express my creativity (yes, it existed before all the hype on developing creativity in the past decade). Of course the Lego set has come a long way with different themes, such as Star Wars and even the Ferrari Victory set which I saw today! With these themes, you have better blocks to build more realistic models. However, nothing beats having the good old basic set to let you exploit your imagination.
On a related note, yesterday I found out about the perk of working for LEGO - a customized LEGO man/woman for your business card!
I wonder if I can buy a LEGO RF, Jordan or Woods out there... I know Kimi comes with the Ferrari Victory set. ;-)
