Making Singapore Our Best Home.

I guess many people share my sentiment, why not calculate the bonus package according to average income of the household, instead of the annual value of home?

It simply doesn't make sense. 3-room flat, pay house loan, 4-room flat, pay house loan, 5-room flat, pay house loan, EA flat, pay house loan. Why penalise the group of people who sacrifice other material goods, for better and more comfortable living for their family? A larger flat simply does not imply more well to do household. Neither does staying in a 3-room flat implies you are poor.

Some may say, give you money still complain so much. But, you pay tax, I pay tax, now the government share with us a portion of their "profit", it should be done fairly. Of cuz, those its always those who feel marginalised who speak up, and thus appearing to be big whiners, sore losers. And the rest who are satisfied will prefer to keep quiet, tiam tiam and um-chio.

Using average household income to calculate is similar in nature of using annual value of home to calculate, as it takes into account, the well being of the family. However, it is definitely more accurate. It takes into account the financial burden of breadwinners. We need that money for our day to day use (bills, groceries, etc.). How does having a bigger flat which our parents slogged for years to pay so that we can live comfortably, make us more capable of paying those bills? Even the service tax, and utility bills are charged at higher rates for bigger flats. Are we supposed to downgrade the flat which our parents paid with their hard-earned money and make our parents stay in smaller flat with us? Okay, don't even go to the debate of "why not when you can't afford". In reality, flats are liabilities, not assets. I can go on and on, give examples with figures, to show how inaccurate it is to use annual value of home to calculate.

Anyway, it is simple to calculate using average household income, even primary school student can do,

Average household income = Summation of individual family member income in the household/ Number of family member in the household

Viola! QED! No brainers.

Anyway I still welcome any sort of monetary gifts from the government, but I will appreciate more if they do something about the ever increasing transport and medical cost (eg. no more financial crisis, isn't it time to reduce back the fares???), and oh maybe top up the CPF. Upgrading the flats ar, build one more kitchen here, build one more balcony there, isn't really useful lah. Build so many linkways between the blocks, why not build one those links to my bus-stop? I must say, I can travel to many places in Singapore without getting wet, eg. to shopping malls in Orchard, to my workplace, to NTU, to my hostel last time, except along this missing link, my block and the bus-stop. Maybe some people will say I very selfish, build a link to serve my block only, but hor, there are links between every other blocks, and my block is the nearest to the bus-stop leh. So it actually serves everyone else!!! Btw, got some website where we can give our suggestion or not? Or must go for the meet-my-mp session every week to convey our requests? Election coming leh. *hint hint* Better stop before it becomes a full blown grumbling. heh heh.

Yes! The whiner is back! ;o)

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

Shopping for Perfume.

If you want to buy original but cheaper perfume in Singapore, you'd probably go to Lucky Plaza . You can bargain at the perfume shops in Lucky Plaza which is the exact reason why anyone would wanna shop at Lucky Plaza. I went there with a friend to shop for some perfume this afternoon. It was a shopping experience I never had before in Singapore. As a matter of fact, never before in my life or anywhere in the world. I usually visit the two shops near McDonald's . Today we decided check out another shop since we had walked from the "Lucky Plaza - Ngee Ann City underpass". We had in mind one of the brand we wanted. So after asking the price, we looked for the 2nd bottle of brand, but at a lower budget. We tested three, can't decide and asked for recommendation from the boss, an Indian lady (not being racist, its just the fact it happened to be an Indian shop). She showed me a black face (no pun intended! heh ) and said my budget was too low. She probably wasn'...

If you have it, just flaunt it.

Its such a lousy day, I have decided to blog another entry. Yesh, I am thinking about things other than my last two papers on Thurs and Friday. Something probably talked alot before by many people... What is it with men and women with 可爱-oooii *杨丞琳's voice* face, long tresses, slim legs, curvey body, in revealing tight clothes (only for those with the former characteristics), in pink. Why are men so attracted to those features? The guy is lying if he says he will not turn his head when he sees women with those features. I think it has nothing to do with men being lustful or anything disgusting. It probably has something to do with the genes, the hormones. I don't believe it has to do with things like its men's nature instinct to look for partners who can reproduce blahblahblah. That's so boring! Its something mysterious, something that let men derives pleasure by just looking openly, without doing anything bad or harmful or immoral. Do women ogle at men all the time too...
