Random Pictures.

I realised that I have not blogged for a week. During the weekdays, I just want to sleep after I get back home. Doing anything else other than maybe watching anime or reading blogs/checking mails, will be too draining for me. I am coming to understand why people who work seldom blog, unless if your job is really exciting or you get to meet or sorta funny people everyday whom you want to tell your friends about.

Anyway it was quite an eventful week. And I took a breather from work during the mid-week when I attended an induction course. Got to know quite a few nice people from other departments. Its nice to see some familiar faces on the bus every morning after the course.

Below are some random pictures I took during the week...

The first is a plate of garlic prawn pasta from Coffee Club at Raffles Square (I think thats what you call that place, the entrance of Raffles MRT). Constance recommended it to us during the KL Gang outing. It was really delicious, the prawns were very tender - like eating chestnuts! The price was also reasonable.

The second picture is a moth I saw in the lift. Its a white moth with some patterns on its wings. I know its a moth when I see one, but according to ah-fa and theresa who really know their moths there is something to take note. They said that the difference between a moth and butterfly is that a moth rest with its wings open, while a butterfly with its wings closed.

The last is a picture of Thomas the train I took at Funan IT Mall. I guess most of you must have seen it on tv when you were young but it was really cool to see the train f2f. hah hah. The train was moving in and out on the stage and the eyes really rolled like what you see on tv (can't see clearly in this picture) . I am not a big fan or anything but I think it was quite impressive.

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

If you have it, just flaunt it.

Its such a lousy day, I have decided to blog another entry. Yesh, I am thinking about things other than my last two papers on Thurs and Friday. Something probably talked alot before by many people... What is it with men and women with 可爱-oooii *杨丞琳's voice* face, long tresses, slim legs, curvey body, in revealing tight clothes (only for those with the former characteristics), in pink. Why are men so attracted to those features? The guy is lying if he says he will not turn his head when he sees women with those features. I think it has nothing to do with men being lustful or anything disgusting. It probably has something to do with the genes, the hormones. I don't believe it has to do with things like its men's nature instinct to look for partners who can reproduce blahblahblah. That's so boring! Its something mysterious, something that let men derives pleasure by just looking openly, without doing anything bad or harmful or immoral. Do women ogle at men all the time too...

Saturday Afternoon Routine.

I just got back from the Saturday tuition sessions. It has been almost 5 months since I started.I have two classes of primary school children, P4 and P3, taking Maths and Science, and English, respectively. It has become a Saturday routine. A energy-draining activity. It is somehow different from giving volunteering tuition. When you are paid, the responsibility seems greater. And if you ain't doing a good job, someone else is readily available to take up yours. The fact that I really need that money, I have to put in more effort. Some students have left, and some have joined. I'm not sure whether they left cuz they think I ain't good 'nuff for them. But there are some who seem really happy and appreciative to have me around. On my first lesson, I set the ground rules for my classes. I told them my expectations on their behavior. On boy, how naive I was. They are only nine or ten, they don't understand the significance of those rules. After a couple of lessons with ...
