For the past two weeks, we had embarked on the journey to healthy diet. My wife had been waking up at 6.30am every morning to prepare our bento lunch!
Usually, there will be rice, vegetables and fish/chicken in our bento. I must say, the bento suited my taste! The fish are usually my favourite, salmon and cod. Throw in some fruits, its a balanced diet. Delicious!
In some way, my wife has surprised me with her ability and enthusiasm to cook. She wasn't much of a cook before marriage. Now, she's getting the hang of it. It wouldn't be long before I start inviting people over for dinner. :p I guess she has a good shifu to transfer the culinary skills to her! ;-)
My friend joked that the bento lunch probably will not last for more than a year! I laughed over it, "That long?". Hah...
There are many benefits in bringing bento lunch to work. Besides being a healthier choice, we can also save a few bucks. But it certainly takes the effort to wake up early and cook. To expedite the work, my wife prepares the ingredients at night. She will only steam or boil, occasionally stir-fried. Thus, ensuring its healthy food, and keeping the washing simple.
I think if time permits, I hope my readers will consider bringing bento lunch to work as well. But keep these thoughts from the canteen uncles and aunties! :p Sleep early, wake up early, appreciate the love that is fueling the persistence of your spouse.
This is no gimmick, no tricks of courtship. This is day to day effort to do the best for someone you love. Thanks dear!

But an interesting thought crossed my mind. You can consider setting up a Bento club in the workplace (Emails are powerful ads). Eat together and even take reference from each other's bento for new ideas.
