2009 Birthday Wish List.

Time files. It is just a few days to go and I urgently need to review and reveal my 2009 Birthday wish list so that my busy friends will not have to go on a "crazy shopping". I realised that what I want are things that can't be bought, maybe I will talk about that later... But having said that, as the Tea Queen said, "It is a standard for everyone, we will buy something for everyone's birthday." On with the traditions, here's the list (brought forward from 2008):

1. A chic Laptop Bag for 13.3" laptop.
Why? >> Cuz my Fujitsu laptop bag is old and dull. Of cuz no need to get these high-end ones lah, I saw some really nice one at the Apple authorized store in Orchard Cineleisure as well.

[Update: I got this for my birthday in 2007 and it is still serving me well! Thanks!]

2. A bottle of Designer cologne.
Why? >> Cuz what makes one smell man enough is not his perspiration. Which brand of cologne do ladies like best? You decide! I tried Davidoff Coolwater, Hugo Boss Emotion, GF Ferre, DKNY Delicious, so don't get me any of these.

[Update: Please add CK Eternity, Burberry Touch and Burberry London to the "Don't-get-these-cologne-for-me-list".]

3. Apple iPhone.
Why? >> Cuz it is slim, it has an amazing interface, it is one chic phone. Nevermind the fact that I can't use it in office, I will gladly use it as weekend phone.

[Update: I bought myself a iPod Touch - a reward for accomplishing Item Two of 2009 Resolutions. So I guess I don't need a iPhone anymore.]

4. An Apple MacBook or an iMac.
Why? >> Cuz I want to join the Apple bandwagon.

[Update: I bought myself a Asus EEE PC last year, so I don't need a new laptop either.]

5. A Nintendo Wii.
Why? >> Cuz I was never a big console game player and my free Xbox is outta date. It's about time.

Latest comments >> I am still considering to get one for my new house, but it is a luxury item which I can't quite afford. Do you know how much renovation cost???

6. A Cello or trumpet.
Why? >> Cuz item six of my new year resolution review says I want to pick up a new musical instrument.

Latest comments >> I don't think anyone will ever get me this, but I want to take a break from "lessons" for a while...

7. Five good books.
Why? >> Cuz I love to read if I have more time. Why five? No reason, just a random number, and I think five books will occupy me for quite sometime. Anything in your opinion are good? Don't be fooled, books ain't cheap either. =p

Latest comments >> I think this item is good. Got some vouchers last year, you can get me more. ;-p

8. A Watch.
Why? >> Cuz I have been told more than once that my watch is old and ugly. Tho' I beg to differ, I wouldn't mind something for a change. Would prefer a Frank Muller. But Tag Huer also can lah.

[Update: I received a digital watch for anniversary last year! Thanks dear!]

9. A pair of Sony earphones.
Why? >> Cuz nothing sound as good as that from the Sony earbud earphones. Crisp clear music brightens my mood. Tho' they spoil so easily, so are my ears, spoilt for only the best earphones.

[Update: Birthday present for last year. Thanks again!]

10. A Clumper bag.
Why? >> Cuz its nice but I can never spend such money on a bag. No pink, no green.

[Update: This is present 2007, same as Item 1.]

11. A Canon digital camera.
Why? >> Cuz I wanna take some good photographs and I need a camera. I would prefer one from the Powershot family.

[Update: My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is still functioning well.]

12. A Nintendo DS.
Why? >> Cuz its the best selling video console platform in the world and I enjoy the cooking game! Wahahaha...

13. A Roger Federer Red Cap. *NEW*
Why? >> This man is the legend. I am still going to support him even tho' he is not winning recently...

Things not to get:
Wallet, key pouch, pen, Sony PSP Slim, ties, shirts, pants, Spa vouchers.
Why? >> These are presents I received in the previous years and they are still good! Er.. 'cept for the Spa voucher... I don't really like such stuffs. :-p

I know this list isn't very helpful... there is only one new item, the rest are mainly updates of what I got. A quote from myself two years ago.. "Seriously, I am not expecting any of these lah. Real-ly."

And now for my real wish list... I would prefer that everyone save up the money, so that some donkey years later, we will all be able to go for another trip. Perhaps this time, it will be a road trip - after all, I have completed Item Two. ;-p And some other more personal wishes, I had already conveyed to the certain "
special some-ones".

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

If you have it, just flaunt it.

Its such a lousy day, I have decided to blog another entry. Yesh, I am thinking about things other than my last two papers on Thurs and Friday. Something probably talked alot before by many people... What is it with men and women with 可爱-oooii *杨丞琳's voice* face, long tresses, slim legs, curvey body, in revealing tight clothes (only for those with the former characteristics), in pink. Why are men so attracted to those features? The guy is lying if he says he will not turn his head when he sees women with those features. I think it has nothing to do with men being lustful or anything disgusting. It probably has something to do with the genes, the hormones. I don't believe it has to do with things like its men's nature instinct to look for partners who can reproduce blahblahblah. That's so boring! Its something mysterious, something that let men derives pleasure by just looking openly, without doing anything bad or harmful or immoral. Do women ogle at men all the time too...

Saturday Afternoon Routine.

I just got back from the Saturday tuition sessions. It has been almost 5 months since I started.I have two classes of primary school children, P4 and P3, taking Maths and Science, and English, respectively. It has become a Saturday routine. A energy-draining activity. It is somehow different from giving volunteering tuition. When you are paid, the responsibility seems greater. And if you ain't doing a good job, someone else is readily available to take up yours. The fact that I really need that money, I have to put in more effort. Some students have left, and some have joined. I'm not sure whether they left cuz they think I ain't good 'nuff for them. But there are some who seem really happy and appreciative to have me around. On my first lesson, I set the ground rules for my classes. I told them my expectations on their behavior. On boy, how naive I was. They are only nine or ten, they don't understand the significance of those rules. After a couple of lessons with ...
