Oops! It's already 2010 and I have yet penned down my resolutions! No more basking in "achievements" like last year... Let me get right on to the serious things. First up, the critical review of Resolution 2009 : 1. Doing better at work. - It had been far from smooth sailing. After more than two years working on tree variations of the same project, I am hoping for a change soon. But all is not that bad. I went for a developer's conference in Palm Spring, and somehow managed to balance the wedding preparations and the two horrible deployments. Had I done better in my job? I guess it is hard to tell as the bar is raised every year. Considering the economic turmoil of 2009, I oughta be grateful that I'm still holding a job. 2. Passing my Driving Test. - I did it! I did it! I achieved it on the first try, within my target of April. Unfortunately I have yet taken to the road since then. Anyone willing to lend his/her for a joyride? ;-p 3. It was six months ago when we had our pre-wedding shoot. Now, a sneak peek at some behind-the-scene photos... Dear wife putting on make-up... The difficult part, sticking on the eyelashes! Our fantastic make-up artist, Candy, from La belle Couture . Our photographer, Kenny, giving dear wife some tips during the indoor shoot... I had make-up too. ;-) Had failed many times to create this hairdo... The mature look... Princess look... My sweetie pie! And the groom all ready too... Hah . One of the outdoor location we had chosen was our Alma Mater, NTU. With the help of our former lecturer, Prof Yeow, we obtained the kind permission of the university to shoot in the school grounds. Some of the places we went included the laboratory, lecture theatre, library and the green roof of the School of Art, Design and Media . Dashing through the famous "fingers" of the university spines. Christmas Greetings. Glow. I had an extra special Christmas Eve dinner this year with my dear wife and two very good friends. We had dined in a vegetarian restaurant at East Coast Road. Naïve serves meatless food like no others. It didn't quite taste like normal vegetarian. Perhaps the secret was in the ingredient, Monkeyhead Mushroom . The ambiance of the restaurant was really simple and pleasant, filled with interesting decals/wall prints. It was like dining in my own house. ;-) At the start of the dinner, we had to do a ritual known as the Blessing of Sesame Seeds . It was a way of giving thanks for our food. We took turns to grind the seseme seeds and later spread them on out food. Someone hard at work... grinding away! So what are the yummy dishes we had? First of all, the starter, True Tradition ($9.90). Braised mushroom in 5-spice sauce served with steamed buns aka Kong Bak Bao, but it tasted better and healthier! Not on the moon this time, but in my home! Tonight I assembled my first model aeroplane. Snap snap snap, it was assembled. No painting was necessary. Not challenging at all. :p It is the 1:200 model of the SIA A380. This model plane is extra memorable for us as we flew back from Paris CDG airport in the A380. From tonight onwards, it will fly the friendly skies of my flat. :)

After two consecutive weeks of housewarming parties, our humble abode is pretty much warmed up! Tho' I can't invite everyone I know to our housewarming parties, I would like to do a little show-and-tell on the favourite spots at home... Greeting everyone at the entrance is my shoe rack and " Like A Bird !" I bought this Threadless wall decal from Blik . Perhaps green cushion can better portray the scene of animals roaming on the savanna... but wouldn't it be a lil' yucky? Heh ... ;-p An Edvard Munch's " Starry Night " poster, encased in acrylic frame, can be found in the living room. One of his famous painting is " The Scream ". We bought this poster from Munch Museum in Oslo, during the TOML . In our living room, we also have a green carpet. It looks like fresh green grass of the soccer pitch, breathing life into the house. A tea set sits at the corner of our balcony. Nothing like a relaxing cup of tea under the shiny moonlight. :-) W...
