Bertrand's Garden.

Ever dream of having a garden in your own room? Blue skies, plane flying through the clouds... little ladybirds, dragonflies zipping between the flowers... chirping birds, balls of petals and grass floating through the air... That is the room I wanted to create for my little boy. And I did so last Saturday - with the help of some fantastically designed decals.

At each step, I explained to him the next piece I was going to put up. He watched on intently. Then he smiled and melted my heart.

I hope this garden will create a carefree and happy environment for him to grow. At least for now, the garden brings much joy to child and parents alike. Every time I step into his room, it is like walking into a room of a childcare centre, filled with fun and cheers!
The coolest thing is Mummy had recently bought him a pair of ladybird and bee wristlets. Perfect compliments for the garden. I can imagine him coming to me one day, to tell me that he had spotted them in his garden!

Some may ask if the removing the decals will leave stains on the wall. My answer? These "re-stik" decals are removable. But why would I want to remove them anyway? They are very much part of the furnishing, like the bed, the cupboard, the sofa, etc. And they fill our house with life!

Welcome to our prince's secret garden - Bertrand's Garden.

Thanks... I would say, you gotta experience it, to fully appreciate it. Just ask the other Dad who had pasted decals in his daughter's room recently. ;-)

The Bridal Dowry.

The delivery of dowry ( 送嫁妆 ) is another important custom. It represents parent's effort for her daughter to have a good life after marriage and prepare her with the necessities for being a good wife. I am amazed by some of the things included in the dowry. Of course, in our modern living, we will not be using some of those things... Nevertheless, I think it is all good to have them, as each item carries a good meaning for our blissful marriage. :-)

Resolutions 2012.

While my one-year-old is going for his first steps, I am also learning to walk (again). 2011 was full of ups and downs.  I was promoted for the 2nd time in my first job. Not fantastic but not bad either after six years. The challenging issues justifies for the few more dollars increment to the stipend. Murphy is my good friend. With only the final milestone left, I hope to overcome all odds and pull the rabbit outta the hat in 2012! If I am lucky, I may run another project.  For the consecutive year, I expended all my medical leave. After hearing my story, some may say 父爱是伟大的. Some may think I was pure clumsy. As my son likes to watch basketball playing, I decided to show him how to do it myself. At first I felt good, I got it plenty of shots. Unfortunately, I broke my ACL while chasing after the ball. It has been two months and my knee is still weak and hurts occasionally. I plan to go for surgery in 2012, while performing the balancing act of pulling the rabbit and recup...
