What's happening to the world out there?
It has been more than a week since I was down with pox. I had been confined at home. The only people I have met are my family and a very nice friend who was so kind to bring me my office laptop.
It had been horrible experience. Mainly, it is because I have lost one of the pleasure in life - eating whatever I want.
Yes, this has been my typical lunch and dinner every day, minced pork and green vegetables. I am on a strict diet. No chicken, eggs, nuts, potatoes, seafood, fish... Well just about everything other than pork and vegetables. Some said I will slim down. Let's just wait and see, when I get back.
The ordeal will soon come to an end. Thanks for all your encouragement. The worst was long over. Day 3 was the fateful day when I suffered the unbearable itch and fever, with neighbours playing overnight mahjong. I had been feeling better since. I was able to resume my chores like mopping the floor and washing the toilet. I was also able to keep up with work too via the phone and office laptop.
Interesting girls kept me occupied. There was a girl who took a shortcut to Paris, world of parties and theaters, only to discover there wasn't a shortcut. Oxford was the way to lead her there. There was a girl who stumbled into her dreams. She cut off the head of a fiery creature and fulfiled her father's dream of trading in China. There was a girl who pressed the button for a million dollars. It finally took away her life. There was a girl who solved the murder of herself, from the land between heaven and Earth. She made it to heaven with the other victims.
Interesting girls aside, my upcoming challenges are packing my lazy bones to tackle the piling work and sustaining the lesser-than-strict diet. No chicken wings, nuggets, roti prata, char kuey, and all that for the next four months??? Urghs!
Well... there's no problem keeping up with the world out there, as I read the news from my bed using my iPod every night. But I can't wait, can't wait to face the world again, pox-free.
