Throughout the week, I did have lil' things I wanted to blog about. But when I get on the PC, I just felt too lazy and tired to do so. The things suddenly seemed to mundane to be blogged. I have nothing to rant about, no opinions so strong to let anyone else know... Is that what working life does to people? Am I slowly transforming into a boring engineer? What about the other things in life? What other things? You mean sitting in front of the PC and passively watching those animes I downloaded? Oh did I tell you I stare at the laptop for approximately 8 1/2 hours everyday at work? Btw, this is where yours truly spend his time blogging and surfin the cyberland at home (pictures of the 8 1/2 hours everyday at the office coming soon after I've decorated my desk, no time for that yet lah).
As you can see, its a good place for suntanning during the day too...
Maybe I should pick up some sports. Thats why I bought two badminton rackets just now ( two for $21.90 only lah, one for my gf, one for myself, you think I'm gonna play with both hands meh?). We will be playing badminton at YCK stadium next Sunday with Ah Fa some other guys who are interested (perhaps you'd be interested?).
What about the arty-farty aspect of life? A model Singaporean should have a balanced life of work, sports, art and family eh? I picked up the art fest. catalogue just now and realised the fest. is almost ending. Oh boy what did I missed? There's still the Swan Lake Ballet coming up, perhaps I should treat myself to that if the cheapest tickets are still available. It will be a good chance to enjoy the facilities of The Durian again.
Finally the family aspect... its Father's Day today, and my mum's birthday as well. So I decided to treat my family to a meal at Jack's Place. Sorta like a treat for my first payday as well. So its a three-in-one thingy. Ah, here's my favourite part where I can show you the pictures of the food.
This is the Lobster and Catfish which my dad had,
and the Deep Fried Dory which I had. Isn't Dory=Catfish?
and this is a picture of dad and I,
Happy Father's Day Pa, Happy Birthday Ma! Eh Eh, are you guys thinking where's the picture of the cake??? Aiyar, we had the cake yesterday liao, Coffee Nougat Cake from Angie's Choice! Compliment of my sister. Yeah, everyone chipped in! hiaks. Btw I also got my dad a bottle of Hugo Boss Motion, very hip eh. I also think so.
The food at Jack's Place was so-so, but I must compliment them for their wonderful service - very polite waiters and waitresses who paid attention to our ice-water needs. The bill also came in a jiffy after I had my tea without me having to prompt them. The only disappointment was that there was only one father's day gift, despite us ordering two sets of the special set lunch which cost $26.90 each. Strangely I can't tell the difference from the normal set lunch other than having the appetizer and the gift (which is a mini almond butter cake).
After the Father's Day cum Mum's Birthday lunch, we shopped at the heartlanders' favourite shopping mall in the North, Junction8 where I bought the rackets. Finally bought some grosery at NTUC and headed home.
That completes the last aspect of the model Singaporean. I suggest the goverment to award me with the ISO0511 Model Singaporean Certification for my outstanding balanced lifestyle. Together with this certification, should be some rewards such as highly subsidised transportation, exemption from tax for the next five years, food vouchers at the heartlander mall food court, and free entry passes to movies (or pirated movies dvd vouchers) and perhaps passes to the two new IR in near future as well. I suggest you, my friend, to go for continuous retraining on activities that will help you live a balanced lifestyle before they start getting FTs to replace lil' heartlanders who are not ISO0511 compliant. Mark my words, retraining and certification are the in-thing these days. Keywords my friend, remember the keywords...
